TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted February 24, 2015 4 speed or 8 speed? I like the 8 speed version. ("normal" size tires & "long" frame)
Beagles 72 #3 Posted February 24, 2015 I called them and they said four speed Do you think that would take a sickle mower ? The rig looks nice in the photos, his wife's dad got it new. They have all the manuals for it and also a trailer
Beagles 72 #4 Posted February 25, 2015 What is the size difference in the 4 speed and 8 speed? Wlll the 4 speed still take most of the attachments I think I need to grab this rig Just wish it was a little bigger I would like to confront if it could take a side sickle Dave

TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #8 Posted February 25, 2015 Shorter wheelbase / 6" front rims (vs. 8") and 10" rear rims (vs. 12") You could probably install a sickle bar mower but my experience with them mounted on a 3 or 4 speed tractor (no low range) is that the ground speed is too fast. There should be pictures of both (4 and 8 speed) models in the gallery. If it's a good price, buy it anyhow.

slammer302 2,156 #10 Posted February 25, 2015 I have a b-80 and b-60 with a newer k181 pull start these are pretty much the same as what ur looking at and I love them both the b-80 is a 4 speed the b-60 is a 8 speed I wouldn't think its a deal breaker having the 4 speed
bean 85 #11 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) I've owned a couple of the "73 8hp 4 sps. it is a pretty small tractor. I ran a 42" deck and it handled it well. if you are over 5'8", I would look for a b80 or c81, etc. the "73 also has a combination clutch/brake pedal, instead of 2 separate pedals. if you are stopped on a hill with a load, it can be al little dangerous getting started again. rear tire choices are somewhat limited. there aren't any 20x8x10 ags for the 10" wheels, although you could use 10" atv tires I don't know what tractors sell for in your area, but I would think $500 is high. Beagles 72 #12 Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks, I passed on it, I thought the same thing it was a little small. It was a very clean rig one owner with all the books and a dump trailer It did sell the next day I will keep looking for one with a sickle mower as that is what I am looking for Dave
