Red Neck Temperature Gauge / Thermometer

Hello All....

DANG ITS COLD.... Heres an easy way to tell!!! Steam=cold, no steam equals not cold!! Lol :eusa-think:

Heres the C81 after it had been running for HALF AN HOUR..... this tractor has turned into one of my favorites. It just runs and runs and gets the job done. Hasn't failed to start right up no matter how cold... (I have 10/30 in it).

Temp had to be around 5 maybe less... I dunno. I just know the tractor wouldn't stop steaming---I think its cool as heck.

I'm getting sick of moving all this snow around---today I shoveled my workshop roof and half of my garage on both sides---pitch is too steep / I'm too much of a sissy to go higher---unless I wanna fall off into a 6' deep pile of snow!

Also---anybody know of a chute extension for an Ariens snow blower---maybe to 10' or so???

Doc I have a C-85 that is my workhorse. It's awesome. I like it better than my C-175A.

AMC RULES

Looks like the direction the wind is blowing there... :teasing-poke:

if you'ld just use a blower to get all that snow airborne again...

it would be the next guy up the streets problem to deal with.

Tony  What do you think of your walk behind blower.  Our Ariens gearbox went out and I'm borrowing a Sears junk blower. Looking for a replacement

Hi Duane,

my blower is a 2009 Ariens Deluxe 27 with a Chinese built Briggs 11.50 ft lb (7.5-8 hp) engine. (Briggs puts a Made in USA decal on the engine if it is) So seeing Made in USA on the piece of equipment doesn't mean the Briggs motor is....

I love the thing... it is the "top shelf" homeowner grade unit.... I didn't want to go to the Pro series because I didn't like the cable operated chute rotation and chute angle along with the individual cable operated drive wheel locks for turning etc.... It just looked like too many things that could freeze, break ot otherwise make the thing useless when you need it most.

The simple "speed wrench" chute rotation and loosen the wingnut to angle the chute was perfect for me.... Ariens now calls it the Deluxe 28 and as far as I know you can get a Chinese Briggs, a USA Briggs (same engine--just assembly point), and a LCT Chinese OHV motor---these engines have been getting fantastic durability and quality ratings.

All in all it will cost you $1000---$1100 but I have had nothing but good luck, starts, runs and blows no matter how cold and does a great job.

Tony

P.S.--did you blow the auger gearbox or the wheel drive??
