Sparky-(Admin) 23,146 #3 Posted February 9, 2015 Tall or short chute?...makes a difference in the price. Mike..........
rmaynard 16,293 #4 Posted February 9, 2015 It's difficult to determine having not seen a picture or description. I purchased a 42" snow thrower for a C-series about 3 years ago for $150.00. I have seen tall chute models sell for over $500. There are too many variables to give a flat-out suggestion.
ihsig@sbcglobal.net 0 #5 Posted February 9, 2015 Still waiting to hear back from owner with your questions. Thanks for the help. Keep you all posted. My little plow has can't push all this snow!
Sparky-(Admin) 23,146 #6 Posted February 9, 2015 My little plow has can't push all this snow! You might find that 8hp is not enough to run the blower in anything deep. Most guys with blowers have em on higher HP machines. Not trying to rain on your parade....just don't want to read a post about how snow-blower attachments suck down the road. Mike......... ihsig@sbcglobal.net 0 #7 Posted February 9, 2015 Makes sense. However, I'd rather run the snowthrower every few hours as opposed to having the snow too deep for the plow to push it at all. The snow is so deep along my driveway that there is no where to push the snow.
boovuc 1,090 #8 Posted February 10, 2015 I knew you were going to write that as I read the beginning of your post. "The snow is so deep along my driveway that there is no where to push the snow". That is the trouble with snow plows and multiple heavy snowfalls. Unless you push the snow way back each and every snow storm, you wind up with what looks like a half pipe for a driveway. And once you get some freeze/thaws on that wall, it's like concrete. Your correct in wanting a blower. If you have extremely wet snow, you can push it and then blow the lighter stuff. But you need to buy another Wheelhorse! Plow tractor and blower-tractor. If all this snow isn't reason to ponder a second higher horse power WH, I don;t know what is. I feel for you guys in the real NorthEast.
Tim 97 #9 Posted February 11, 2015 this year in new england $1,000,000 150-400 depending on time of year, condition, tall chute versus short chute tough to tell without pics not a good time to buy though look in the spring or summer
Live4outdoors 151 #10 Posted February 11, 2015 I just got one in a package deal that the dealer claimed they would ask $200 for, tines are perfect but has a homemade welded on bracket, so I would think $150 is very fair for it and if you were coming near me would love to sell it...
