kudzu3 323 #1 Posted February 3, 2015 I have a leak at the brake shaft in my '74 B 80, the best I can figure it out, it is a 5053 trans, 4 speed uni drive. In the reference numbers posted, it appears that this seal would be sks 9815, so that is what I ordered. I found that this is not the correct seal, maybe should've gotten a sks 7410. Am I correct with the 7410? I'm trying to figure out how I mis read the numbers, but seems that I read them right. I'm a little confused here, probably my fault but could some one offer an explanation?
rmaynard 14,932 #2 Posted February 3, 2015 If you have a 1974 B-80 4-speed, the Toro number for the brake shaft seal is 100441 or SKF 7410
rmaynard 14,932 #3 Posted February 3, 2015 Your tranny should be a 5084.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,530 #4 Posted February 3, 2015 Toro tells us the two models of 1974 B-80 4-speeds use the 5084 transmission. If you go to the transmission service manual the model 1-0140 uses 5080 transmission (I believe this one uses 2-piece pinion gears) the model 1-0145 uses 5084 transmission (I believe this one uses 1-piece pinion gears) In any case they both use the 100441 seal for 3/4" brake shaft = SKF 7410 Garry
kudzu3 323 #5 Posted February 3, 2015 Yes, it is 5084, my mistake. So seems like we all agree that it is skf 7410. Thanks all.
