doynger69 38 #1 Posted January 31, 2015 Hi all, I have a small problem with my Wheel Horse model 16 . I went out to plow snow and it was frozen to the ground and I sheered off the axle woodroff key. Can anyone please tell me what size key it takes? Thanks in advance. Eric In Western, Pa.
squonk 43,744 #2 Posted January 31, 2015 My 73 12 had 2 different size keys in the original axles. If your other hub will come off I would measure that key and replace both. I have both sizes in my shop but I 'm on the road at the moment
JimD 3,347 #3 Posted January 31, 2015 Here is a Woodruff key chart, but you'll need to be able to measure your key to determine which size is correct. If you can get one from the other side, take it to your local hardware and you should be able to get a suitable replacement.
squonk 43,744 #4 Posted January 31, 2015 I got my keys from McMaster-Carr. Got both sizes I needed in bags of 10. They have them in std. and extra hardness. I got the tougher ones. Had to order them twice as size needed was different than what I had on the other side. I pulled a hub and ordered that size. Then when I pulled the other hub off, viola! different size!
