rustykan 140 #1 Posted January 31, 2015 What is the best way to deal with a rattling hood on a C-120?
daveoman1966 3,839 #2 Posted January 31, 2015 Take out the pivot rod where the hinge is and replace it with a short bolt on each side, 2 washers, and a NYLOK nut to stop the rattle. Draw the NYLOK nuts tight enough that you have to use a little effort to open the hood. If it is your hood ornament rattling, force a bit of rubber inner tube under it...MAYBE If the rattle is back near the s/wheel where it locks down to the dash, use a bit of Velcro strip on either side of the latch.

I think the rattle is coming from the latch end. I was thinking about some foam adhesive strips, but the velcro would work also and maybe last longer. Don't have a hood ornament, so it's not that. Shynon 7,481 #4 Posted February 1, 2015 slit some fuel line and put it over the front edge of the dash, then close the hood and latch. Tom
