Moment of silence for a fallen tractor

Tony... Dude that sucks! :USA: I have no doubt she'll live again. :banghead:

And Sarge... I've been through Ohio about a billion times. (ok, maybe exaggerating just a hair!) My wife is from Dixon and we lived around Peoria for five years. Another RS member, "Stevinator", is from Dixon.

Hey Burly!...Here's the right size lug tires you're looking for! And already mounted! :banghead:

There is some serious damage to this old girl, but with patience and determination, she will again be pulling loads.

Man, any remorse I was feeling about losing the 312A on an eBay bid just completely evaporated. I can only imagine what you and the family are feeling right now. And like the rest of the guys, I am thankful beyond words that noone was hurt.

I'm confident your machine will rise again - just like the Phoenix of mythology.

Chin up!

Duff :banghead:

Jim I was more of eye-ballin' that front grill. I need one more for my 953 frontend down in the horse room. I have a front end or nose piece that I need to put a motcycle battery in and be able to walk up flip a switch and the grill would light up. Just way too much time on my hands. I was checking out the tires but they look like snow tires.... Tony that really does bite the big un. Like everyone said at least she looked like she went peacefully. Good Luck on the rebuild. Burly

That lighted wall hanging is a great idea John. I have a 1054 front with some good light buckets. Makes mee want to install some 1136 bulbs and power them from a 9 volt plug in transformer. That should light them up pretty good without making them too bright. It would make a good night light for my shop. :banghead:

I can't see the tread well on those rear tires, but the sidelugs look to be too far apart for snow tires. :USA:

But I don't want to sound like I'm not grieving over the pancaked 'Horse. I'd be devastated if that happened to any of mine. (Head bowed with hat over heart smilie.)

I'd be devastated if that happened to any of mine. (Head bowed with hat over heart smilie.)

I had all but forgotten about the 35 foot tall cedar that fell alongside my 704 this past February! :banghead:

But I got lucky, it only slightly bent the lift height adjuster, bent the steering wheel (straightened right up.), and put a bit of a wrinkle in the left side of the hood. She sat under the tree for over a week before I could cut her out.

So sorry for the loss Doc... My 1054A sends her condolensces....

This random tree falling really shakes me up with memories.

A lodge pole pine fell on my truck out west on our honeymoon as we were just driving by. It cut through the passenger side pillar post and almost killed my wife. The only thing that saved us was the fact the the road was "raised" up from the surrounding country side about 20 ft. The tree hit on the mounded edge of the road instead of killing us with all of it's force. Maybe I will write down the whole story of "the honeymoon from hell" in another topic section sometime.

Glad to hear your going to resurrect her!

Yah a canvas (tarp) type garage with galvanized poles sure would have stopped that tree.... :hide: You got me on rain/weather but not on heavy falling stuff....

Thanks everybody I am watching several parts...

Horse'n Around

:ychain: The only up side to this is that no one was hurt. Im glad that its going to repaired. With that kind of determination , a parts donor tractor , time and maybe some help from friends this will be totally resurrected, looking great and running like a swiss watch.

John

Thats ashame!! But as said above, it was doing what it did best ...

ash-ame. no pun intended?

aside from any salvageable parts . . . you can cut, split and burn that ash tree straight away. no seasoning necessary. but still.

and i just realized this post is 2 years old. any updates? :ychain:
