Dieselcowboy 210 #1 Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) I just got this last night and It was only .5 mile from home! best kind right? Anyway not currently running , it was sunk down in the dirt. Had to use a pry bar to get it up from its resting place. Have a few questions about it. It has been converted to attach o matic in the front , could this part be a factory upgrade. I noticed it is bolted to the frame. Also I have never seen an ignition like this one. Is it from the factory like this or has it been added as well? Any idea what the bracket close to the lift handle might be for? And the last one why do some tractors have electric pto clutch and some do not? Jake Kuhn 1,579 #2 Posted January 25, 2015 Nice find Matt, I don't know anything about the tach a matic or clutch, but the ignition is kohlers version of solid state ignition. It is original, and they can work good, but if there bad can be expensive to replace.
Dieselcowboy 210 #3 Posted January 25, 2015 Something like an electronic ignition? I also noticed it looks like at some point it had racing stripes on the hood. Must have made it faster!
Ken B 3,189 #4 Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) Someone added the tachomatic at some point, nice upgrade. Electric clutch was standard on the Charger 12's. I think it was offered just to pimp the tractor up a little at the time myself. Kinda like a car with roll up window's versus electric. You know every salesman pushed that electric clutch on potential buyers. Nice if it works..No idea on the bracket.. I have to add, I'm not sure electric clutch came on all Charger 12's. Electro 12's yes. Edited January 26, 2015 by Ken B
ericj 1,579 #5 Posted January 26, 2015 i've had several of these over the years it was a factory part that was made after they started to produce the quick attach to change the older models over to the quick attach set up.i'm not sure how rare it is but it is very useful part to have if you use your pre-73 tractor as a mower tractor or blower tractor. there should be a special rod that allows you to lift a newer quick attach deck that goes a long with the bracket eric j
