Not sure if this is in the right topic area, but would I be able to swap out a hyro in my C125 for an 8 speed tranny?

Well i dont see how much of an obstacle it would be seeing as there we c125 gear drives. I did one in my GT-14 and that was a lot harder due to the fact that them were never designed for hydros. Im sure its possible and it shouldnt be very hard. I see that they have the eaton 1100 those are a good hydro if it wasn't abused. A good working hydro is alright to me.

It would be easier and cheaper to find a black hood that already has the 8-speed in it. (Because you will need a whole parts tractor to make sure you have all the parts you need)

If you are planning on doing a full frame off restore then a swap is a little easier since you already plan on having it torn down to the frame, but you will still need a parts tractor.

And if you go so far as to get a decent parts tractor with a bad engine, then its easier to swap the engine into the 8 speed...

Alright, thanks for your input everyone. I've just had problem after problem with the hydro system and was just curious what a conversion would take. Just thinking out loud so to speak. I'll probably end up keeping the hydro in it and try to fix all the issues first. I guess you could say I was putting the garden cart in front of the horse.
