zanepetty 117 #1 Posted January 23, 2015 I'm thinking that maybe the rings need to seat a little bit as I only have about 6 hours on my motor since the rebuild, but when I throttle up it puffs a little bit of smoke. Also when it is idling down when I hit the kill switch. But those are the only times. Do ya think my rings aren't seated completely yet? Thanks
slammer302 2,156 #2 Posted January 23, 2015 It could be the rings or the carburetor could be to rich What color of smoke is it?
zanepetty 117 #3 Posted January 23, 2015 It's really hard tell. I don't believe it's black. and its def not super white. So that's what makes me think it's oil. But it's hard to tell. I have adjusted the carb several times and it still does it. It still could be too rich though. I'm hoping its rings.
slammer302 2,156 #4 Posted January 23, 2015 I wouldn't be to worried if its only doing this on throttling up and down I would just run it sum more and keep an eye on it
Fordiesel69 271 #5 Posted January 23, 2015 The stens rings I got for one of my spare M12's took over 10hrs to seat, and then winter hit, so it will probably take a tad longer.
