redhead 10 #1 Posted January 21, 2015 is their suppose to be shims in relief valve bore? Did not find any in the one I dismantled to rebuild. Mine is hydraulic lift C-141. Need to know if I should make some and install or install none. Also after you rebuild a sunstrand is their a way to bench test before installing on tractor? THANKS for info in advance and have a good evening
pfrederi 18,633 #2 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) If it is the implement relief there could be shims the question is what pressure reading did you get that determines if there are enough/too many shims, Edited January 22, 2015 by pfrederi
redhead 10 #3 Posted January 22, 2015 If it is the implement relief there could be shims the question is what pressure reading did you get that determines if there are enough/too many shims, Did not do pressure check, had to dismantle hydro to repair. Tractor quit moving after oil got warm, got a used assembly from daveman1966, rebuilding my old one. The reason I asked about shims is where ever I read said shims should be in with relief valve. Is this correct or not?THANKS in advance for help and have a nice day
pfrederi 18,633 #4 Posted January 22, 2015 If I read the manual correctly prior to 79 there were only shims in the implement lift relief . The change in the front of the manual would indicate that after that time there were also shims in the charge valve relief. (part #103574 same for charge and implement. However I would only add or delete shims if my pressure reading were out of spec.
