redhead 10 #1 Posted January 13, 2015 On rebuild of Sundstrand hydro(90 series) does the Geroter set suppose to be matched up ? Or can it go together any way. Doesn't say how in manual, but on a listing inWH where a person is showing how to rebuild one (Ibelive it was on D series) says they are suppose to have match marks, What will be the problem if you did not mark them to match up when you reinstall? hOPE NO PROBLEM LET ME KNOW thanks Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
daveoman1966 3,839 #2 Posted January 13, 2015 The gerotor set is actually an oil pump. It must be precision ground so that oil will not escape from either top or bottom side of it. It's thickness must also be matched to the depth of the cavity in the housing...also to preclude oil escape. e.g.: if you grind .0002" off of the gerotor set, the same must be ground from the housing face to reduce the cavity depth. Is the thickness of the gerotor set EXACTLY the same as the depth of the cavity ? ? ? Presumably, yes.....but it has to spin free when all is bolted together, and that would mean something less than exactly the same. . Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
