decksetter 50 #1 Posted January 13, 2015 Looking for ideas and such, I'm thinking about building my own snow plow frame to put on the 520. Has anyone done this? What kind of steel did you use? Thinking about using angle instead of c channel, wondered if it would be plenty strong enough for maybe a 60" blade.
Desko 624 #2 Posted January 13, 2015 My dad made one for the d160 and it looks to be 2" rectangular/square tubing
Forest Road 594 #3 Posted January 13, 2015 I used a standard WH plow frame. Mounted a gravely plow to it. It was so tall had to cut 1/2 off. Works very well. Unlike the WH plow it'll never bend.
Tankman 3,523 #4 Posted January 14, 2015 Made one using 1-1/2" angle iron. Made the axle mounts from larger angle iron, 4" x 1-1/2" if I remember. Was fairly easy, I received the blade, freebie without a frame. Had to do something? End of the frame, at the axle, I only used pins; one left, one right. Worked fine and I painted it Rustoleum Regal Red.
