Gasket sealer on carb mounting gasket?

Recommended Posts

I used a small amount of sealer that is rated for gas on my carb mounting gasket. Is that a no no?

I wouldn't say a "no-no", but it will be a real female dog in heat to remove!

shouldn't hurt but isn't necessary. I have only ever used a sealer on gaskets when a case is split open. Mostly on two strokes though.

Ohkay. I just didn't want it to mess anything up. I couldn't get my fuel pump to stop leaking until I used the sealer so I put it on everything this go around.

I have had success with a thin film of grease, much easier to disassemble also.
