music100 10 #1 Posted January 5, 2015 For some of the older members who have dealt with these tractors awhile, what would I have paid (close anyway) for one of my 414-8's new in '89? Anyone have a clue? All I have ever had is the cheap big box mowers and most of them very well used so I'm curious. Thanks, John
rmaynard 16,292 #2 Posted January 5, 2015 I have the receipt for a 1996 416-H, and it was $4149.00. So, I'm guessing that 8 years earlier, 2 HP less, and manual vs. hydro, your was probably in the $3100.00 to $3500.00 range.
Tankman 3,523 #3 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) I would say rmaynard is right on. I believe add $$$ for whatever deck the '89 414-8 shipped with if any. The 14 hp Kohler Magnum is an excellent power plant! 1990 pricing. Don't forget to add the mower deck, 'bout $800 for the 48" SD. Forest Road 594 #4 Posted January 5, 2015 I inquired about buying one new in 2000. Approx $5000 for the tractor. Deck was $1200, Snow plow was $500-600. Needless to say I went to Sears. At the time I hadn't even thought of buying a used one. I have receipt for my 1992 314-h $4200, 42" rear discharge deck was $1200 and single stage snow blower $900. They weren't cheap by any means. decksetter 50 #10 Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) My dad bought his 416H new. It's a 91 model, I remember him telling me it was about a $5000 tractor (has a 48sd and a factory slot hitch) but he got it about a grand cheaper because the dealer was going out of business in 92.
