A new one to the herd...

AJ_Thanatos

So I picked this up Thursday and was going to post it earlier for your viewing pleasure but Christmas parties and such got in the way a bit.

So here it is my new Charger 10 Auto.

Nice tractor.Have fun with your new toy.BTW,that little plastic cam is still available.Got one this past Summer for my B-100 from Parts Tree.Kinda PITA to put in.I had to loosen the four tranny mounting bolts. Then I put in extra long bolts just so I could move the tranny back just enough to put it in.That way, nothing got out of alignment.Didn't even have to jack the tractor up.

That plastic cam was exactly what I was going to ask about. As this is my first hydro I know absolutely nothing about them.

What is its function?

From what I can tell,it's the coupling between the motion control lever and a valve on the tranny. As you move the lever, the valve opens or closes to allow more oil flow. Also changes the direction of oil flow for reverse.

When you replace the screws for the clips that hold the cam in place, I recommend you use allen screws.  An allen wrench is much easier to get in there to adjust the pressure on the cam plate.    I had to partly remove the control lever on my 1076 to get the old screws out, then reassemble the control lever, then reassemble the cam and clips.   And those screws are an odd length, so had to grind down longer ones to fit.

Take pictures before you take it all apart so you know where everything belongs. :techie-eureka:    And have fun.

I have to get to it first... I have four others ahead of it!

Also guys, Check out the other tractor I picked up. Talk about a tank, this thing just needs a turret and off to the battle field.

Can you snap a pic of what its supposed to look like installed properly and not mangled.  :)

I think this one is gonna get all fixed up first. This might be my snow pusher next year. I love the though of the hydro on the slippery stuff.  :handgestures-thumbupright:
