Nice but not too nice C81

I got this little C81 a few days ago.I have known of the tractor thru a couple of owners (both friends) for a couple of years. It's nice enough to be a worker but not so nice to be afraid to use it every day. I used a little rubbing compound to get the paint to shine a little. Looks like a little paint on the wheels and a seat and it will turn out pretty nice. I also just bought a nice solid rd 42 inch deck complete with covers from someone else for the huge sum of $25 that will go nicely on this tractor.

Thanks Tm.It is too lol. I have another tractor that has a similar stack with a slim baffle out a four wheeler,surrounded by packing. I am not sure If I will do that to this one too or change the exhaust.

Nice find! I really enjoy my little C-81 a lot. It's also the pic in my avatar. For most chores they seem to be about perfect.

Thanks 47JDG (BTW I used to have one of those) and they retain that classic long hood look but with the fancies of the C1x5 series such as the rubber mounted engine isolator plate.

Thanks Geno.Thanks wheel-mule the Simplicity is actually a 700,the model before the 725 and Simplicity's first riding tractor. I have had it a minute (since 1993).

I don't think that will be a issue Geno,my rusty stuff will always out number my shiny stuff but that's OK with me. I have a thing for old rusty stuff.

Thanks Gary B the old Simplicity's are around here but you have to look to find them. Sometimes I think the rust makes them run better.lol OK well maybe not but it gives them character.

M_Bailey I must be getting older and wiser,I never used to care for this style with the tank under the seat and the isolator plate. Just made it more to work on or get out of the way to work on but these days I like the big plastic tank and the way the isolator plate takes some out of the shake and rattle.

Ken B,I can't help myself,I like pretty all old GT's. They are from an era when people did more for themselves and expected the equipment that they bought to do a lot of different tasks.
