:USA:  :wh:  3 weeks ago I started to clean the b-80 every thing work lights started right up. But it was very dirty from mowing  since 1996 when 2nd  owner bought it. so now it is all cleaned up put in the battery in NOTHING Dead so I check all wires for continuity every thing looks good there. I have a new switch, check that against the old switch. It was the same. Cleaned all switches  with contact cleaner spray. So I am thinking solenoid or starter??? I did bang on starter to see if it did work nothing. I did hot wirer from starter to ground that worked it turned over. ANY IDEAS??????   Gary B....

Thanks Craig I just went out and tested it. the 2 poles have power but nothing coming from the clutch safe  switch pole. So with that I am thinking it is the safety switch. I will go to nappa tomorrow and see if I can get one. Gary

Hammers don't "fix" electrical problems. Get the wiring diagram and go from there. Your new switch may look the same but double check the posts with an ohm meter.

If you have an ammeter check that. I have seen this dozens of times and the connection at the meter is either loose or dirty
