alswagg 128 #1 Posted December 24, 2014 Does anyone else have a back hoe option along with a loader? Mine is on a D180. I bought from up state New York. The seller says he bought at a village auction and this was a grave digger for the local cemetary. I am interested if anyone else has this option. The back hoe works great. We have used all summer digging water lines, elecltric line, random hole to simply bury stuff as well. This winter I plan to repaint the entire unit and add power steering. Oh, the back hoe can dig up to 6' deep, the bucket is 16" wide.

alswagg 128 #3 Posted December 24, 2014 I have several pictures static and while in action. The whole family uses it to dig, alot of fun. I have seen some very nice show tractors on You Tube with a back hoe. I will try to figure out how to post a picture. Al

KC9KAS 4,744 #9 Posted December 24, 2014 Wow, a Fiancé that can operate a backhoe! Can't get much better than that!! Thanks for the photos. My wife said if we can find a backhoe for our D-200 we will buy it!
alswagg 128 #10 Posted December 24, 2014 I have not removed the back hoe yet, but it looks fairly straight forward. This tractor has a hydro pump for the loader and another seperate pump for the back hoe, of coarse this is along with the oem drive pump. I have an axle leak, so I am going to pull the back hoe off, to remove the axle for a reseal. I am hopeing to get the power steering set up working. I bought a kit from "power steering guy" We have 3 D series tractors, 2 are working great, 1 is for parts. Most of the parts are already scrapped off the third. I am interested in another here on the board for sale, but the cost and shipping might be out of range this time of year.
AMC RULES 37,153 #11 Posted December 24, 2014 I'd just worry about operators feet dangling down there in the pinch point.
alswagg 128 #12 Posted December 24, 2014 AMC, there are actually foot rest's for your feet. You simply cant see them in the photo. No pinch point close to your feet. It is actually very comfortable to operate. When digging a trench I put the bucket edge down and lift the front tires slightly. Then dig, once dug as far as can, simply lift the front bucket and move forward to line in the dirt. Alighn this mark with the rear legs and away you go again. The tires are nearly completely full of liquid. This makes for a very stable ride as well as very little air pressure has to be used. Front at 10 psi rear at 5 psi. jeremi3210 742 #15 Posted December 24, 2014 I've had them backhoes off they are very heavy. Otherwise they are easy to remove and install.
wildman 205 #16 Posted December 24, 2014 Can you set the vault with this machine also.Nice rig.
alswagg 128 #17 Posted December 24, 2014 Not sure how much a vault weighs?? I have picked up and moved the front snow blower and the rear 5' mower. Nice thing I don't have to use ramps to get onto a trailer. Use the front bucket to raise the front, use the rear bucket to raise and push the rear.
