Just keep your eyes open for a post that says "Look at the awesome tractor that I bought" or keep looking in the classifieds for 1 for sale for $8500

I would almost bet it is still there. The owner probably got tired of all the lookie loo's and wasted time on the phone. I could be wrong though...

Pretty certain that it is gone and I believe it may have left CT. As of Friday morning it was still there however a follow up phone call in the afternoon it was sold. The past couple weeks here on RS peaked its interest again and sounds like she found a new home possibly in the mid-west. Going to try to get the picture posted of it taken on Friday. I have been wrong before stay tuned.post-5112-0-51165500-1418694439_thumb.jp

There was or is or rumored that there was a NOS 420 LSE in the area of Ft. Wayne, IN. I talked to somebody a year ago that said he seen it. I can not confirm this. Has anyone heard of it?

6 Grand is certainly a good hunk of change but who am I to judge. 6 grand wouldn't get you much in the way of a new John Deere or Cub Cadet garden tractor. I have certainly paid the price for things I thought I wouldn't be able to live without thru the yrs. Seniors aren't easy to come by, I think now that this NOS 420 is gone we won't be seeing too many more NOS 420's for sale either.. Another thing to remember is not everyone is into Senior's, maybe he collect's the later tractor's, might even be a member in good standing here.. Now, the real question is.... Will he run it???? :confusion-shrug:  And congrats to the new owner! Now clean the friggin dirt off of it!! :laughing-rolling:

My wife told me last week to be on the look out for something red showing up at the house in the next few days!  :) Turned out it was the Fire Dept dropping off a real Christmas tree she bought!

I agree Ken but there is no more support for the Wheel Horse products. Unless your like us and have the skill to maintain and fabricate forget it. If i was to drop $6000 for a tractor it would have real live hydraulics. Those older engines and carburetors don't like our new ethanol either.

If I remember correctly that 420 didn't even come with a mower deck. Add the attachments that you need and the cost really climbs.

Again as always "to each his own"!

Well, to those who have, it may not be such a big $$$$. I have dumped plenty of $$$ on things that my wife would tell you is CRAZY :laughing-rofl: !. Like $1,500.00 to have a Holley 750 DP honed, balanced, trued, and polished to flow 900. I can hear it now, why didn't I just purchase a Dominator carb for that price.... Because the dominator would not have given me the response that the carb did after all the work was done. The Dominator and Carb were both tried out as a comparison. The Dominator did not have the "instant" response as the Holley produced after having all the work done. The Holley did not have the adjustable flow valves that the Dominator had. I thought I could live without that since the Holley produced a more predictable response throughout the engine rpms. BTW- this is was also in 1994 when I spent that money on the carb. EFI was still not being used on 1/4 mile and street racers. So, I opted to have an professional build me a dominating carb for the dominating engine. :laughing-rofl: .

But now, I may think twice about spending that kind of money.... Just my :twocents-twocents:

I know where #1 is at!!! Within 10 miles of the house. Possibly going to auction possibly in the spring, maybe I haven't heard any updates as of now, The Oliver colllection sold a month or so back. The owner was Donnie Fisher who owned Jones Wheel Horse out of Maumee, Ohio. He had #2 for a long time then #1 became available from Wheel Horse and Donnie snatched that one up too. Gave his brother-in-law #2 This is the story as it was told to me

There was one close to Kokomo In. The owner purchased it from a retired dealer that had it in his living room. Only had a few hr's on it from riding it in parades. The guy that bought it took it home and started mowing his yard with it.        :scared-eek:      That's been close to 10 years ago.

And that there is the truth. My father in law was a Holley carb specialist. He would always tell me a Holley carb was garbage out of the box..  I wish I could have learned half of what he knew...
