Coley909 12 #1 Posted December 12, 2014 I use it as my plow tractor and yesterday I noticed it is no longer charging the battery. The LED lights are flickering. I also have some power issues they may be tied together sense they started at the same time. I can hardly climb a small hill at full throttle, I also had the hood open to jump start it and noticed my spark plug boot is sparking all over does anyone have the part number for that or where to buy one? I set my hand on it make sure it was seated properly and it shocked me of course. The generator was recently rebuilt last year I'm not sure what to look for. boovuc 1,090 #2 Posted December 12, 2014 Your plug wire can be replaced at any auto parts store. Just take it with you when you go and show it to the desk person you speak to. It sounds like it's bad and it should never ark even when wet.
Coley909 12 #3 Posted December 12, 2014 Ah gotcha so it's nothing special then that's good at least.
boovuc 1,090 #4 Posted December 13, 2014 Not special at all. Since the plug had a weak or no spark off and on depending on moisture for some time, you'll probably need to replace it as well. Make sure you check the gap on your new plug for .022" to .025".

Coley909 12 #6 Posted December 13, 2014 Is the generator supposed to be producing ac voltage?
boovuc 1,090 #7 Posted December 13, 2014 Your Starter/Generator should produce 12 volt+ DC AFTER the voltage regulator. Where are you measuring AC voltage at?
Coley909 12 #8 Posted December 15, 2014 At the points on the starter gen and across the battery
