motor12 367 #1 Posted November 21, 2014 I don't know if this info is out there, I didn't do a search. On the Chinese carbs that replace the Kolher K181 the fitting that the gas line goes to is not a pipe thread nor is it metric. It is known as British and it screws into the carb and seals with an o-ring and washer then a second fitting with a barbed shank screws into that fitting and is sealed by compression. Do not try to force a pipe thread fitting you will only damage the carb. I installed one today simple and leak free.

motor12 367 #4 Posted November 22, 2014 I got these fittings at Rivercity air & hydraulics here in Austin,tx but I'm sure any company that makes up hydraulics hoses will have these fittings.

motor12 367 #6 Posted November 27, 2014 Just installed one of these on a k181 and found that also, what thread size do they call that ?? I was so grateful to find the correct fitting I forgot to ask what size British fitting was used. Tomorrow I will call the business where I got it and see if I can get the thread size. My receipt doesn't show fitting size. I will post as soon as I find it.

diamondred 63 #8 Posted November 29, 2014 Whitworth threads?
motor12 367 #9 Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) Talked with Rivercity today and was told a .2 in a British thread is equivalent to an 1/8 in pipe thread. For a 1/4 pipe thread a .4 British thread was the equivalent. Check your size or take carb with you to make sure you get the correct size. wheel-mule 46 #11 Posted December 7, 2014 (edited) If it a carb someone has bought from me they are 1/8 npt.The first (early) ones made were not taped deep enough. The problem has now been corrected.I would run a 1/8 npt tap in a little deeper. The british thread is a stright thread called 1/8 British standard stright pipe thread.
