rollingflat 123 #1 Posted November 7, 2014 Ok I'm not this lucky so I know there is a obvious explanation which I am missing here, but I saw on the fourm how to look up the model # on your tractor. So I looked up the 520 its a 1991. Tonight I looked up the c-160 auto and model # is 1-0481 and this is what I found Select a Result Showing 8 of 8 results for: c-160 auto Model # Serial # Year Product Name Show All 1-0480 1-0481 61-16KS01 61-16KS02 61-16KS03 61-16KS04 71-16KS01 71-16KS02 Show All None - None Show All 1977 1976 1975 1974 Show All C-160 Automatic Tractor 1-0480 None - None 1974 C-160 Automatic Tractor 1-0481 None - None 1975 C-160 Automatic Tractor 61-16KS01 None - None 1976 C-160 Automatic Tractor 61-16KS02 None - None 1976 C-160 Automatic Tractor 61-16KS03 None - None 1976 C-160 Automatic Tractor 61-16KS04 None - None 1976 C-160 Automatic Tractor 71-16KS01 None - None 1977 C-160 Automatic Tractor 71-16KS02 None - None 1977 C-160 Automatic Tractor could this mean I have the first c-160 auto produced in 1975? That would b sooo cool!
rollingflat 123 #2 Posted November 7, 2014 I tried to copy and past the toro page I got the info at but it did not transfer just right, so maybe you can look up my # and see the same thing.
Geno 1,929 #3 Posted November 7, 2014 When I go here - http://www.toro.com/en-us/parts/pages/partslookup.aspx and enter 1-0481 I only get 1 result. If you are talking about the 1 in the model number, that is the beginning of the model number.
rollingflat 123 #4 Posted November 7, 2014 Geno go there and put in c-160 auto and it shows all years that the c-160 was produced . maybe you can see what Im refuring to.

rollingflat 123 #14 Posted November 7, 2014 Ok let's see if l can clear some of this up. I wanted to find what year my c-160 auto was built but did not have the model # in front of me so I just put in c-160 auto in the Toro website. Which gave me every year the c-160 auto was built. Starting in 1974 the model# was1-0480. Starting in 1975 model# started 1-0481 and so on to 1977. Then I went out and looked at my # I saw it was 1-0481. Thinking the model #s went sequely from 1974...1-0480 and up and seeing the first model # of 1975 matched mine I thought I might have the first production c160 auto from 1975. I hope this helps you guys understand my thought process last night. In the end it was quite funny.

cruisnblue48 856 #19 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) If I understand correctly, the first #1 in model #1-0481 means it is a tractor. Any number other than 1- refers to the item being an attachment or other implement to use with the tractor. The model number would be identical on all models produced in that particular year. The sequence of production would be determined by comparing the serial number with the serial number of other tractors having the same model number.
