thanks guys

finally got the front end apart the other day seems like I beat on it for a month to get it and after seeing the problems I can see why someone must have ran into something very hard I have a lot of bent parts

and what ever they hit it was hard enough to break the front axle at the pivot point

here is the the axle pivot bushing and whats left of the bolt

That axle doesn't have a bow in it, that's an early "forward swept" front axle.  :)

I bought some pipe today at a local shop to rebuild the front axle and I am going to build a small E-tank to try

if someone knows what the ratio of water to washing soda is please post it for me

1/2 to 3/4 cup in about 5 gallons of water is recommended.

I think the conclusion is that the ratio is not critically important.

Hey Brian, don't throw out all your bent and broken parts. By the time you are finished you will have a complete set of patterns to build another one!!!!!!.......

very nice work by the way, piece by piece, exactly how i would expect you to handle it.

this old girl has been waiting for somebody like you to once again make her look and operate like she did a long time ago.
