PGRNPA 0 #1 Posted November 1, 2014 I have a 1974 c-100 with a mower deck, snow plow, snow blower, weights and chains all in very good condition. I am considering selling all as a package but have no idea what I could expect for a fair price. I have used this primarily for snow removal and occasional lawn mowing. I have not decided to part with it yet but have an opportunity for a john deere 445. Any advice appreciated.

Forest Road 594 #7 Posted November 2, 2014 445 is twice the machine. If the WH does all you need I'd keep her. WH are easier to work on and parts are less expensive.
boovuc 1,090 #8 Posted November 2, 2014 I'm with the Forrest Road. If you have $$$$, sell the horse if you need 'All the services" the JD 445 would do. If the WH does everything you want or NEED it to do, keep the horse and put the $$$ back in your pocket. The difference is WANTS and NEEDS. Normally after I spend a lot of $$$ on a want, something I need, (truck, water heater, fridge or freezer), will take a big dump and that is when I remember the "wants and needs" saying from a realistic point of view! Desko 624 #9 Posted November 2, 2014 I have a 455 Deere diesel and they are uncomfortable IMO the seat sits up to high can't sit on the fenders on hill sides or it'll shut off (safety switch) and again IMO the foot pedal on them sucks I prefer my dads D160 hydro with the column control the nice machines with large decks but its the little things that bothers you.
