Lane Ranger

I have not seen one yet either!   The old front cutter bar sickle used on an RJ might be able to be hooked up to a Lawn Ranger but the motor and drive belt configuration would have to be changed to accommodate the differences in the Lawn Ranger from the RJ.  The RJ's did run those sickles or front cutter bars on a 4 HP or less motor so  a 6HP or more on a Lawn Ranger should be sufficient !  It is just a matter of engineering the drive !

If I could get a hold of a front sickle.bar (or reel mower) I would be converting it to fit on a lawn ranger

I have a front mount sickle bar 4 sale in the classified section it was on a 552 when purchased it they just moved the mounting plates up and was using the idler pulley that was for the mowing deck and used a section of chain to raise and lower it

Oh yeah I saw that. But a trip to MO for it is not very economical..  :eusa-think:

The front sickle might work on a Lawn Ranger... the only issue might be clearance of the front axle and how much pivot room you have for lifting it to the travel position.

A tiller cannot be used on a Lawn Ranger without some serious modifications. There's no rear lift cable on a Lawn Ranger. They came standard with a drawbar on the back for towing a cart or lawn sweeper. The transmission has the boss for a slot hitch, but with the smaller rear wheels, again you have the issue of clearance even if you added a slot hitch.

And I say slot hitch, because you'd have to be running a self-powered WT-241, WT-242, or WT-244 tiller.... there's just no way to run a tractor mounted tiller on a Lawn Ranger without just building a complete custom unit.... and then... it's not really a Lawn Ranger anymore, is it?
