Electro 12 wiring

Recommended Posts

Hey, so my electro 12 has been running good since I rebuilt it. The kholer runs strong. The one problem I had is that I had to jump start across the solenoid because it because all I got was a click when I turned the key. So my dad bought a solenoid from advanced. Been riding it fine for 2 days with the new solenoid on no problem, then I park It for one second, turn it off, hook up the trailer, go to start it and I get the clicking, or some weird sounds and smoke from my cigar lighter wires. The tractor had been sitting overnight, started it in the morning, ran it out of the garage 15 feet away to log splitter, turned off the tractor and Boom.

What would cause this !?

Save Old Iron

Smoke from the wiring means an extremely large current draw thru the smoked wire.

First step is to look for any wire carrying battery voltage which may have come in contact with the metal frame, hood stand or steering wheel column in the tractor.
