PMaine 31 #1 Posted October 27, 2014 I need some help with a snow cab install. Can someone take photos of the rear mounting setup around the seat pan? I think I am missing a part, or the proper knowledge to make this work! Thanks John
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,530 #2 Posted October 27, 2014 Have you looked at the manuals we have? Search the Manuals for Cab snow and quite a few will come up. Garry
Theroundhousernr 589 #3 Posted October 27, 2014 No clue what vintage snow cab you have but maybe this helps....
Geno 1,928 #4 Posted October 27, 2014 We may be able to help more if you post a pic of what you have also.
PMaine 31 #5 Posted October 27, 2014 Those are the parts I have left! Thanks guys.
PMaine 31 #6 Posted October 27, 2014 That photo is of the rear of the cab, I think I have a different version cab than you do?
Theroundhousernr 589 #7 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) Seems you have the newer version for the high back seats like those found on a 520h. I think the fender mounts are the same but could be wrong. Have to wait for a member to respond with the same cab or check the manuals. Did you purchase it this way? I think your fender brackets are missing. Edited October 27, 2014 by Theroundhousernr
PMaine 31 #8 Posted October 27, 2014 I think you may be right- I thought the 1/2" EMT pipes/braces in my photo were to serve this purpose but I don't think I am right.
Geno 1,928 #9 Posted October 27, 2014 I haven't seen one go back quite that far either. I'll check the ones I have in the morn.
Theroundhousernr 589 #10 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) I see in the pic angle iron, windshield frame supports, piece that bolt on lower frame so the vinyl holds its shape away from motor. Thats all i recognize. Geno, that shapes pretty common on the newer cabs. Edited October 27, 2014 by Theroundhousernr
Geno 1,928 #11 Posted October 27, 2014 I must have older cabs. Looks like the piece that ties it all together for the rear mount is gone.
PMaine 31 #12 Posted November 17, 2014 Got it all figured out and everything mounted! I had to make replacement rear canvas and front but I think it came out pretty well. Windshield wiper- yes or not? I have a motor mounted, but no wiper or arm?
AMC RULES 36,956 #13 Posted November 17, 2014 Looks really good... the windshield and wiper were optional equipment on these.
Geno 1,928 #14 Posted November 17, 2014 Came out really nice, nice job.
PMaine 31 #15 Posted November 17, 2014 Thanks guys. Any source for a wiper arm on these? I have the motor.
dennist 139 #16 Posted November 19, 2014 John, looks really good and you did a great job fixing the issues it had. Glass front should be an excellent upgrade.
c-series don 7,874 #17 Posted November 19, 2014 I took my motor to my local Car Quest Auto Parts and they were able to match one up in about 5 minutes. This was after I spent over an hour in a junk yard trying to find one!!
PMaine 31 #18 Posted November 19, 2014 Thanks guys! Can't wait to move some snow. Gotta admit, thinking about getting another tractor. I need a loader!
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,530 #19 Posted November 19, 2014 These wiper motors, arms and blades for cabs are often found in marine applications. Garry
