wallfish 15,929 #3 Posted October 26, 2014 If gas is running out of the carb, the float or the float's needle valve is not working correctly. Shake the float and listen for fuel shaking inside of it. Inspect the valve for damage.

boovuc 1,090 #6 Posted October 27, 2014 I don't know per your posts if you bought and installed a new Carb kit in the carburetor after cleaning. If your using the same components over, you need to install new. they are cheap. Definitely a float or float needle valve issue. My Magnum 10 was doing the old flammable liquid "waterfall" three years ago. A trip to my local NAPA and 15 minutes cured it.
Fordiesel69 214 #7 Posted October 28, 2014 Also after you have done everything mentioned above, if it still does it, you may have a leaky intake valve allowing blowback. Or a overly loose exhaust valve clearance.
hckypck7 1 #8 Posted October 28, 2014 The pin that the float pushes up to stop gas flow was missing. The pin the float pushes up to stop flow is missing....?????
Fordiesel69 214 #9 Posted October 28, 2014 Is this a question? If the needle valve is missing this would do exac tly as you describe
hckypck7 1 #10 Posted October 28, 2014 Not a question. I am trying to locate a kit for carb
Fordiesel69 214 #11 Posted October 28, 2014 So next you will need to determine if you have a carter carb or walbro carb. From there you will be able to get the correct kit. While rebuilding, check the upper part of the throttle shaft for looseness, and get a gallon bucket of berrymans chem dip to soak the carb in. It is not like the good old stuff but will work well. boovuc 1,090 #15 Posted November 1, 2014 His needle valve from the float was missing after cleaning the carb. He bought a carb kit and problem was fixed.
