the_nite_owl 15 #1 Posted October 23, 2014 Hi All! I am having a bit of trouble with the steering on my 76 D-160. She was working normally but recently I started to lose steering to the right. The wheels would only turn a few degrees to the right before it came to a full stop but steering to the left is fine. I got under it last night and found two loose bolts on the left side of the steering box and one missing bolt on the mount for the steering box. I imagine the loose side bolts let the sides of the box push out under pressure from steering and let the teeth slip a ways in one direction? My laptop hard drive crashed and I lost my collection of PDF manuals. Anyone know the procedure for getting this thing back to full range steering? Thanks. the_nite_owl 15 #3 Posted November 15, 2014 Section 8 of this service manual deals with the D-Series steering box. Garry Thanks for the info Garry. Sorry for the delay, I had surgery on my right arm and have not been able to do much until recently. Will take a look at it soon and try and get her steering straightened out.
