Sundstrand O rings / backing seals and reusing them

My winter projects seem to be repair oriented rather than resto this year. One of them is to get my D-200 going again after a transmission failure earlier in the season and I'll be starting a thread soon.

 

Anyway, getting ready for this it would be useful to know whether it really is essential to renew the O rings / seals i.e. pump to manifold and manifold to motor or can you get away with reusing them? Reason I ask is that I notice that the sets are NLA on Partstree only individual components so chances of finding any new ones here in the UK seems slight but will try.

Andy:  I would replace the o rings with new ones.  I can send you some if you can't source them locally (You were a big help in getting my D200 back on the road!!!).  The backer rings I would reuse if they were not damaged.  If they are screwed up I can go to a local hydro place and see if he can match them for you.
