Tim Bergfeld 55 #9 Posted October 26, 2014 I don't wanna use my 520 h so I am open to suggestions on what would be the best one to get for it Tim
bmsgaffer 2,043 #10 Posted October 26, 2014 I would say any of them with a bad, or going bad engine. You cant go wrong I dont think. There seems to be the most room under the blackhoods, but its very similar to the new 3,4,500 series... I would get either the cheapest one, or whichever one you thing looks the coolest. Tim Bergfeld 55 #11 Posted October 28, 2014 Yeah I want something with some room to put all the gauges the 520 has to much electrical to deal with. So that's out but I would like to put a loader on it. I was thinking a d200 but I think they are a very ugly tractor so what does that leave? Tim
baerpath 517 #13 Posted October 28, 2014 Any of the XI series . Being it's three cyl it will be hard to put in a C series. It hangs way way out if you mount it so you can run a belt unless you use a 90 to turn it. XI's are already setup to put the engine in correctly
Jrblanke 840 #14 Posted October 29, 2014 What kind of dimensions are you dealing with with the kubota engine? Is it something where you can do some cutting on the 520 and make it work?

Tim You just hurt my D200's feelings Seriously though, I understand what your saying but for me they really grew on me and now I really like the way they look. bmsgaffer 2,043 #16 Posted October 29, 2014 I like the xi series idea but i have been keeping an eye out for one of those for a while. Good luck getting one at a reasonable price. It might have to be a bit of a custom... you could take any tractor and with a little work put in the engine (front to back to fit under the hood) driving a hydro pump and have a separate motor driving the rear end... Maybe even combine a hydro motor with an 8 speed? That would be something I would like to see: You could gear it up to run 15mph in 3rd high and still have a ton of variable speed torque in the lower gears...
