Ed Kennell 41,802 #1 Posted October 18, 2014 I got some seat time on my favorite WH...the C-120. Let him out of the barn to do the last mowing this year...I think.

squonk 43,736 #8 Posted October 19, 2014 Still got a lot of leaves to churn up!
ronhatch 406 #9 Posted October 19, 2014 My last mowing here in northern Illinois is about the 1st of December, mostly for the final leaf clean up. The grass is still growing through November because I apply fertlizer 3Xs between the beginning of September to the middle of November. The applications are very light. I don't want too much green grass mixed in the dry leaves or they will smoke up the neighborhood for 2 days when I burn them.
Ed Kennell 41,802 #10 Posted October 20, 2014 I also try to mow just before the leaves drop so I don't get too much grass mixed in with the mulched leaves. I don't burn mine though...I use them to cover my strawberries over the winter.
Ken B 3,189 #11 Posted October 20, 2014 Nice picture there..When I saw the topic heading "Last Mowing for Techy" I thought she threw a rod! That would stink and I'm glad it didn't. I hope I'm done cutting grass for the season myself but I can tell ya I never look forward to leaf cleanup... Back a few years ago I had a low hour SS 12 Sears Suburban with a 12 hp Techy on it. That was one of the best running engines I ever owned, if you didn't know it was a Techy you would have thought it was a Kohler..
