Ken B 3,189 #2 Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) Lots of conversation and topics on red paint. Almost any color red that is close will do. If you can find Rustoleum Farm & Implement Iinternational Harvester red that is a good one to use. Other popular rattle can colors are Rustoleum Regal red or Sunrise red... Are you repainting the entire tractor or trying to match what you have for touch up? Edited October 17, 2014 by Ken B
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #3 Posted October 17, 2014 Like Ken said, the Rustoleum Regal Red is closer to the '89 shade of red. Sunrise Red is closer to the Toro #361-10 New Red. You could experiment between dark gray primer and light gray primer as well. Check other posts on here for more info on paint.
KC9KAS 4,744 #4 Posted October 17, 2014 1st of all, This is one of the most often asked question on the forum, and there are many different opinons! It boils down to what YOU think matches best and what your painting abilities are. Oh, by the way, what is the best oil to use......
andy001 5 #5 Posted October 17, 2014 I was hoping to find a match for touch up
CasualObserver 3,411 #6 Posted October 17, 2014 For touch up... it's just trial and error. Everyone's red fades differently. Here's the main paint topic... and yes, this is probably the single most asked question behind "What's the belt number for......?"

squonk 43,736 #8 Posted October 17, 2014 If you can pull a panel off. Clean it good and go to a place like Napa. They can shoot the panel with a computer gun and come up with a paint formula and then put it in a spray can if you like.
Marv 979 #9 Posted October 18, 2014 NAPA Can put it in a spray can?? Marvin
KyBlue 655 #10 Posted October 18, 2014 Didn't know napa could do it, but places like Eastwood (www.eastwoodco.com) sell refillable/recharchable paint spray cans - actually they are glass bottles but they spray like a can... very reasonably priced.
squonk 43,736 #11 Posted October 18, 2014 Don't know if all the Napa stores can but mine does. If yours doesn't they should be able to have their main store (whare house / distribution center) do it. It's called the Ommni system. Didn't know napa could do it, but places like Eastwood (www.eastwoodco.com) sell refillable/recharchable paint spray cans - actually they are glass bottles but they spray like a can... very reasonably priced. I tried those. They work good but you have clean up involved and those power heads don't seem to last long.

Ive never tried the refillable spray cans ... just saying they have em. I break out the Sata gun or for smaller jobs one of my three babies (Two Iwata eclipse and one Custom Micron ) depending on how big of a pattern I need..
