Ken B 3,116 #28 Posted November 30, 2014 As always Vin nice job. I wouldn't be able to live with all of the extra hole's either.. What are the long term plans for the finish of the tractor? Restore or try to keep the original look?
VinsRJ 721 #29 Posted December 1, 2014 As always Vin nice job. I wouldn't be able to live with all of the extra hole's either.. What are the long term plans for the finish of the tractor? Restore or try to keep the original look? Thanks guys! The plan for this one is to totally refurb it... fix everything that needs fixing but keep it in its work cloths. That way I can drive it without worrying about the paint or if grease and oil leak. Even though the tractor originally had a Clinton, I will be swapping a K90 on it... just so I have one Kohler powered RJ35.

formariz 11,902 #31 Posted December 1, 2014 I am of the opinion that we should have all of Vin's videos on the RJ 35 consolidated in a section like the "Instructionals" so they could be used for reference without having to search all over for them.

VinsRJ 721 #34 Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) The plan is to have her at the "Big Show" next year... heck I'm hoping to have her pretty much back together by the end of the month! Wish I was closer Brian... I just destroyed my first piece of 1" bar stock making the new axle. This is funny... I forgot to lock down the table so the vibration of the woodruff key cutter caused it to walk down the rod about a 1/4 of an inch before I realized the table wasn't staying stationary. Oh... well better luck next week I guess, LOL! Edited December 1, 2014 by VinsRJ

VinsRJ 721 #42 Posted July 6, 2015 Nice. Wish you would have been able to bring to the show... Maybe Kent? It will be at Kent, weather permitting. Kent is the show which I ran into the guy that sold me the tractor. He said he goes to the show every year... may be able to run into him again

shallowwatersailor 3,213 #44 Posted July 6, 2015 I always enjoy learning about the "transition" years of manufacturing from walk-behinds to ride-on tractors. I never realized that the early RJ's used ratcheting hubs. Thanks!
