Replaced the tranny today on Dads 312-8, the brake lining is shot on the band, what is a good fix for new brake lining? I am not going to pay $77.00 for a new brake band.

One of our members makes replacement bands.

Last I checked he had them still available. search for "wheel horse brake band lining" on ebay.

Bob, will those fit the C-125?

And, do you always carry them?  I need to check mine... I don't think there's a lining on it.  Didn't realize there was supposed to be one there.

It should fit your C-125. If you want one, there is only one left on eBay. I have exhausted my inventory and won't be making any more until later this year. If you order on eBay, wait for my invoice so I can give you the RedSquare discount.

Thanks Bob... In my haste to get the proverbial "last one,"  I just went ahead and paid for it.  There is absolutely NO lining on my machine. :disgust:

Apparently, I only bought something that LOOKED like a tractor.  I didn't know much about these things when I bought it.  Instead, I relied on the word of the seller.  Oh well, I guess it could have been worse.  I don't regret getting her, but I don't think it was the bargain I thought it was when I got it.

Anyway, thanks again!

Buying these grand old machines from a stranger is always a crap shoot. That being said, half the fun of owning them is getting your hands dirty. I value the wrench time almost as much as I value the seat time.
