soofoodude 6 #1 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) FWIW - I was looking for an answer to this question a while back but came up with my own solution. I motorized the chute on my 523dxi blower with a GM window motor. It took awhile to figure out how to connect it to the star drive on the motor. I ended up using a twelve point socket and a short 3/8 extension to connect it to the rotator rod. It works great and is easily removable. I drilled a hole through the socket extension to clip it through the rod. Hope this can someone looking to do the same. Xearl 131 #2 Posted January 31, 2016 Could you show how you ran the wires from the tractor ? I have gathered the parts to power both the chute and the deflector , including the switches, but I am unsure how to wire them up . Thanks . ED
Rick_in_CT 156 #3 Posted February 1, 2016 Ed, Attached is a sketch of how I have wired the linear actuator on my tractor. The switch that I used for both my linear actuator and the wiper motor that rotates the chute are both double pole, double throw. The sketch will work for both the linear actuator and the wiper motor. Both of my +12V feeds to the switches have fuses in the lines. You should have a fuse that has a little bit higher in amp rating than the draw of the motor. If you have any questions about the wiring let me know. If you have a different switch, then post a picture or part number of the switch, and I will try to assist. Rick Linear Actuator Wiring.pdf
