Scotty321 1 #1 Posted October 9, 2014 I just picked up a 2 stage snowblower for a 5XI (Toro 79366 or New Holland 716505006) and it is missing the rod assembly (also called the yoke). Its number 27 in the link below. Looks simple, I'd like to fabricate one instead of spending $150 on it. Anyone willing to take some measurements? Thanks in advance. http://www.torodealer.com/en-us/Pages/parts.aspx?Model=79366&Serial=200000001&MYBEID=22437&PageId=349076&IllustrationId=336617&CallOut=27#
RMCIII 838 #2 Posted October 9, 2014 I can tonight when I get home... It appears that rod assembly is the same for the blade, and blowers. Rob
Rick_in_CT 156 #3 Posted October 11, 2014 Scotty321, Attached are a couple pictures of the lift rod, and a sketch of it. The sketch is an actual tracing of the part. The center line of the pin hole is dimensioned correctly, my lines are not centered. Note that on the factory part the yoke is made of a single plate that has a 180 bend in it at the point where it is welded to the rod. Let me know if you need any more information. I have the blower sitting here on the garage floor so its easy to get to. These blowers work great, you will really like it. RMCIII 838 #4 Posted October 12, 2014 Rick - is that the factory lift flag??? If so, why is it black? Rob
Rick_in_CT 156 #5 Posted October 12, 2014 Rob, I knew someone would notice. I painted the undercarriage components of my blower black when I did a complete tear down a repaint a few years ago. Rick
Scotty321 1 #6 Posted October 15, 2014 Here is the progress so far, will probably finish it up this weekend. Rick, Thanks for the great sketch.
Scotty321 1 #7 Posted October 27, 2014 Here's the finished product. Haven't been able to try it out yet. The deck is such a bear to take off, I will probably wait until I am done mowing for the year before mounting the snowblower.
