Anyone use a plow with a single pin hitch?

Recommended Posts

I have one that has a single hole. I have not tried it. I was thinking about getting one that I could expect to have more control. There is another one on CL that is like this. The holes but they are offset. Should I use what I have or try to upgrade?

Thoughts?

I have been plowing w a 8" plow w only one slot hole for two days now and it is working great. had it for a while but did not have a slot hitch

until I made one last weekend. Worked great. It is leaving a small " land " between furrows but am going to make a three hole slot end to

replace the single one, should take care of the gap problem.

I thought about doing this. Does it stay straight when you left it?

Yes it will stay straight (The one in the picture) when lifted, you just need the clevis hitch that Rollingflat is showing you. Works great. Not sure exactly what you have with a single hole, but long as the plow is not to big it can most likely be modified if needed. I try not to buy anything different untill I run out of ideas on how to modify what I already have.  :)

Seems like the moral of the story is I need to learn to weld.

Appreciate the breakdown....but I don't have a welder. I am going to get one one day for stuff like this.

I would try the one hole plow before upgrading... it will probably work fine. Does it look similar to mine?

The pic of the partly plowed garden was taken weds. before i made the modified hitch. the plow worked great as you can see just wanted

to have more ajustment.

But have not tested mod. today b/c of rain all day.

Helps a lot. Some things you just can't find, at lest when you need them. Helps to be able to just make it yourself.  :)
