Photos/sanity-check of 520h (or similar) terminal connections for tacho & gas gauges needed

Recommended Posts

darren

My restoration of 'George' the unloved 520h is 99% complete but I've realised the photos I took of the terminal connections for the tacho and gas gauges aren't too clear, so I need to check them.

It's a big ask because to take the pictures, you'd probably need to remove the battery (perhaps not to confirm with a flashlight..) you'd really be helping me out!

I *think*, looking at the back of the gauges, it should be as follows;

Tacho

(lamp)

a      b

   c

where

a is 1x grey (tacho feed)

b is is 2x black (earth)

c is 2x pink (+ve)

Gas

(lamp)

    x

y    z

where

x is two lots of 2x black (earth)

y is 1x brown (fuel sender)

z is 2x pink (+ve) and 2x green (lamps +ve)

Thanks if you can help.

I have a complete harness in the shop connected to the gages. I will take a few photos tomorrow and post them for you.

Can't get a good pick of the fuel, but the tach came out ok.

I hope this helps. I tried to get as many angles as I could, If you look closely you will be able to determine the orientation of the gages. I have not worked on this tractor as yet but I am now sure that if I have to remove any of these wires, I will not only take photos, but will label them. What a nightmare. If you need more photos just let me know. I have a meeting tonight but can do more tomorrow.

Nick, you're a a saint. Thank you ever so much, that's just what I needed. I really appreciate the time and trouble you've gone to for me. Armed with this information I should be able to get the electrics finished off and George finished before the winter season sets in; there's no heating in the shed!

Your comments I think epitomise the majority of members attitude on here. it really is an inclusive, knowledgable and helpful community!

Darren, do not hesitate to ask for more if these are not clear enough for you. I bought this harness including all the gages so I would not have to splice the butcher job that was done to my 520. So it absolutely no trouble to go back out and take more photos.
