km3h 543 #1 Posted October 6, 2014 I am restoring my 416-H with Onan P216 engine. Ran beautifully yesterday. Went out today and would not start. No fuel from the fuel pump. Removed the fuel pump from a running engine still and installed it on the 416. Still no fuel. Tried another working fuel pump. Still not pumping fuel. Took the original pump and put it on another engine. Started right up. I think I have ruled out the fuel pump. I really would like to keep the Onan fuel pump on this tractor. I don't want to put an electric pump on it unless it is absolutely necessary. Engine runs if you gravity feed it.
WH nut 553 #2 Posted October 6, 2014 Check fuel line and screen in tank
Martin 2,133 #3 Posted October 6, 2014 After you check that, pressurize the tank to get any air out the lines. Use a toilet plunger or blow real hard in the filler neck. If you have any air in the lines the pumps have a hard time getting gas through. Since you probably replaced the line there is a good chance air is in there if you didn't already force gas through the line to the pump... km3h 543 #4 Posted October 6, 2014 Found the problem. Fuel line was pinched along the frame. Re-routed it a bit and everything is good. Thanks to all.
