chipwitch 73 #1 Posted October 6, 2014 I noticed my C-125 drive belt rubbing on the belt guard under the right floor board. It isn't severe, but I was wondering if maybe this could be an indication of some other problem? Something out of alignment? Wrong pulley? It just occurred to me the holes in the chassis could be slotted to allow for adjustment. I suppose I should have checked that first. My guess is the chassis holes are just drilled holes, no slots? Very little clearance at the front of the guard. Actual contact at the rear.

bmsgaffer 2,053 #3 Posted October 6, 2014 I had that same problem when the belt guard was bent when I tried putting on a deck with the wrong carriage on it... I think maybe its just a little tweaked, I bent mine back by hand. Oh and it rubbed (just a little) when I put a new belt on but it soon wore down enough to not touch

Alrashid2 382 #5 Posted December 18, 2024 Just found this post, 10 years later! Noticed I had a similar situation. Back of guard touched, but front of guard had maybe a half inch clearance between it and the belt. I put a few washers between the guard and frame on the back end as spacers, and now the belt is not touching
Lee1977 7,215 #6 Posted December 18, 2024 Check the frame for damage where it bolts to the transmission. Cracked frames are common when the tractor is used to push snow. That belt guard should not hit the belt if the guard is not damaged, should clear the back of that guard by 1/8". We have seen frames almost broken in two.
