fourwheels0 191 #1 Posted September 30, 2014 can anybody tell me what this snow blower will fit (i have a 702). and the bar for the turning rod is that supposed to be bent?. the serial number on this is a-10286. also if anyone has pics of one like this mounted that would be great. thanks.
CasualObserver 3,406 #2 Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Looks like the ST-302/ST-3072 from the manual pictures. I'd guess that from the mounting bracket, this was on a Suburban. You'd be able to use it on your 702 if you removed that first piece of the bracket. That just raises the mounting point from the lower Suburbans up to the normal frame height of the 702. You may need to fabricate or find a different lift rod if it's not included. Edited September 30, 2014 by CasualObserver
fourwheels0 191 #3 Posted September 30, 2014 do you think it will fit on this?.
CasualObserver 3,406 #4 Posted September 30, 2014 I think so... but If no one else answers, ask TT for details... he's had that style hooked up and runnning.

fourwheels0 191 #6 Posted September 30, 2014 oh well it won't fit the 702. the mounting bracket is about 1/4 inch too narrow. maybe i can find a suburban so i can use it.
fourwheels0 191 #7 Posted October 1, 2014 (edited) here it is all back together. i'm looking for a tractor to put it on. Edited October 1, 2014 by fourwheels0
CasualObserver 3,406 #8 Posted October 1, 2014 oh well it won't fit the 702. the mounting bracket is about 1/4 inch too narrow. maybe i can find a suburban so i can use it. That's surprising.... it should be interchangable. Did you remove the Suburban bracket like this?
wallfish 15,935 #9 Posted October 1, 2014 Yes that blower is a 1962 and should fit your 702 and looks to be in VERY nice condition. Jason is correct about removing that suburban bracket. That bracket and the lift arm make it the st302 for a mid engine tractor but those are the only differences I can remember between it and the st3072. If it's only a 1/4" too narrow then it's probably just tweeked in a little and bending the mounting brackets back out should work. It bolts directly to the frame with 2 bolts each side in the front 2 holes of the frame. You'll need to make a lift arm. Maybe cut the pipe of that one and weld in a new length of pipe or rod?????? Or just make a new one out of angle????? I might be interested in that bracket for a suburban. Made one for my blower and thought I bought one to replace it but just haven't seen it around.
fourwheels0 191 #10 Posted October 2, 2014 well, well you learn something new everyday. i didn't know you had to remove the "suburban" bracket to mount it on a 702. thanks guy's i'll let you know how it works out.
Lane Ranger 10,495 #11 Posted October 2, 2014 I can't wait to see this one running in the winter Mike!
fourwheels0 191 #12 Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) well it's on the tractor (sure enough i removed the "suburban" bracket and it went right on). ya buddy. but i need to find out the length of the lift rod/bar. from the pdf manual it looks like it's flat bar stock with an upward angle towards the rear to the lift. if anyone can get the measurement of that it would be great. wallfish 15,935 #13 Posted October 3, 2014 Just don't see too many of those mounted so hopefully one of the few that do will see this post. TT looks like a good place to start sending PMs. If you don't get the exact measurement, maybe you can support the blower up about 4 or 5 inches and measure the distance between the 2 mounting points with the handle up in the locked position. That should get you pretty close. PS - never mind about the question if you got it mounted in the PM
fourwheels0 191 #14 Posted October 7, 2014 well here's a pic mounted. i made a lift bar out of angle iron. seems to work like it should. i need to get belts for it and get the starter/generator back from the re-builders then i can test and fine tune it.
