Brian1045 28 #1 Posted October 10, 2008 You wouldn't think finding an ole pan seat laying around would be that hard. But around here (Indiana) it is.Ebay doesn't even have an abundent amount of them posted. You might see 3 or 4 that are made for another style tractor, but that's it.I see a lot of members have that cover that is red/white over their pans. They are all over ebay. Do you members that have those...like 'em?I know I should stick with the red/white theme seat for my tractor, but buying a black one really doesn't bother me. I found one at Rural King I really like, and it looks comfortable as well. It is the only one I like outside of finding one that is stock for mine. bell 11 #2 Posted October 10, 2008 Our 1045's are supposed to have the square pan seat... The problem is that they rot out. I have 2 of them... One of them is useable.... the other is rusted out. I happened to find one at the local flea market for $5 that is in perfect shape! The last one I saw on e-bay went for about $90... I do like the seat... they are VERY comfortable. Good luck in your quest for the perfect seat. JB
bell 11 #3 Posted October 10, 2008 BTW, I have a line on a "stack" of them... 3 or 4.... We'll see how that "pans" out... I'll hook you up with one if they are what the guy says they are. :banghead:
CasualObserver 3,411 #4 Posted October 10, 2008 Check with your local mower service shop for people's junk before it goes to scrap. The square pan seat was an outsourced part, many, many other riding lawnmowers had the same seat, just painted different colors. Sears and Snapper are two that I've found. Sears had orange ones, and Snapper had white ones... exactly the same seat.

JimD 3,347 #6 Posted October 10, 2008 hi brian, i too needed a seat for my 753. found one on ebay, and bought it for about $24.00 i think. it was a lucky find and in pretty decent shape. then i bought the red and white cover that's almost always on ebay. it seems to be well made and is very comfortable. very happy with it. hang in there, you'll find one when there doesn't seem to be much interest and make a good buy. good luck. TJ 184 #7 Posted October 11, 2008 I'm the one who bought the pan seat on ebay. A fool and his money. It was in near perfect condition and after sandblasting and painting, it is to nice to sit on. I'm new to computers, so I'm writting this just to see if it will go through.

TJ 184 #9 Posted October 11, 2008 I already bought the seat cover for the pan seat I was going to use. That one is cracked and welded in several places. Solid but not pretty.
