Need suggestions on selling a WH tractor....

Recommended Posts

I had posted the ad in the classifieds and on a couple other sites. I need help on this due to the fact the owner expects it to be worth alot when maybe it isn't and I don't have a clue :omg: on the older tractors and attachments! Here is the story, :USA: it is a 1963 753, restored, not perfect, snowblower, blade, non WH cart, extra parts, original seat included, and so on. I got more pics than there is posted. Is what he is asking too much? He did say $3,000  at first and of course, I said that was too high so he said $2,000 and I said well, it's worth a try! Everything is in Pa.

What would you guys say he might try? I need to talk to him also and see where he stands on a bottom price...

I hope this is OK to post this here, if not...may a Lawn Ranger run over my foot! :banghead:

:banghead: there was on on ebay a little while back with buy it now price of2399.00. it's back up right now for 1799.00. seriously doubt he will sell it for that, and it is nice, with duals, lights, plow included, etc. check it out. now here is mine that i restored or refurbished as i like to call it. if it sold for 5 or 6 hindred i would be surprised. these are for your comparison with your friend. hope it helps, jim.wheelhorsefleet020.jpg

Whats it worth to you? I think it's safe to say that you almost never make a profit fixing something up that you truly enjoy and then selling it. It sounds like this guy loved this little tractor or is looking to make a decent profit and move on to the next one[which there is nothing wrong with]. In the end its only worth what you are willing to pay. Good luck. :banghead:

I saw the one on EBay...I check EBay just about every night! :banghead:

It is not my type of investment. I collect the C-Series mainly so I have no clue what it is worth to me even if I was interested. This is his only tractor and has no plans to get another one.

The tractor is worth exactly what you are willing to pay for it. If you are worried that someone might get it before you, then you haven't figured out what you're willing to pay. There's nothing wrong with asking/paying too much or asking/paying too little as long as both parties are happy in the end. Good Luck.

There seems to be some cornfusion...I am posting the tractor for sale for somebody else. I am not interested in it. I am not into the older ones. I don't have enuf C-Series yet! :banghead: I am asking for help in what a good selling price might be for it OR a better way for my friend to go about selling it.

I am guessing the $2,000 is too high, I will talk to him next week and see what he wants to do. Maybe if he split it up it might sell better....

his tractor is very nice, nicer than mine in my previous post. it would depend on the buyer i guess. some like them as close to original as possible, others like the new seat and lights, etc. when i clean one up, i don't shoot for the showroom look. i want it to look better, but useable, because i will use it some. and i do like the closer to original look. his might go for 1000.00 on ebay, maybe more, but you have to find that buyer. all that said, he will get a good price for it, because it was nicely done. just my 2 cents, i'll shut up now, :banghead:

Ebay might be the answer or split it all up and sell individually...Thanks :banghead:
