how much would a lawn ranager round hood cost

Recommended Posts

hi guys just wondering how much a lawn ranger would cost because i like them and if they are reasonable then you never know, maybe one that needs a little care on the body work due to surface rust but nothing major, must have a working gearbox. also if you could give me a idea for one with and without an engine

Just bought one a few days ago for 150, not running, rusted up pretty we'll, but with a power washer and oil it looks beautiful. It's all original and I wouldn't sell it for all the money in the world:)

I believe pricing depends on who's selling ,who's buying , what someone wants for it, what someones willing to pay for it, the condition, where the tractor is, whats it going to cost to travel to get it or ship it...etc. - ect.   I've bought several Lawn Rangers priced from" FREE" to as much as $500.  can also depend on anything included with the tractor.   I'm guessing this also is true in the UK.

It just depends....Good luck and just keep an eye out for the good deals :)

I have had 5 different Wheel Horse tractors. the first being a 68 Lawn Ranger. I paid $100 for it and

mowed the old abandond lot  next to the shop with it for 3 summers till the transplanted briggs finally gave out.

More than my 520 or 416 or c-160, the little Lawn Ranger is the tractor I enjoyed the most.

I passed my little ranger on to a good Wheel horse buddy who has too many tractors and not enough time.

there will come a day when he will have the time and he will bring the little ranger back to its glory.

here is a little video I shared a few years back.

Thanks all for your help, is that dollars 150 because if it is then it's cheaper than I thought! Meaning it is affordable.

Lawn Rangers are great! look on e-bay and craig's list. you can always find them. simple little mowers that are just as tough as their big brothers. If I were looking for one on the cheap, to be a daily (weekly) user, I would sure consider buying one not running... there are alot of new engines available that will fit under the hood, and it would be like having a new tractor. For a restore, get one with as many original parts as you can find, alot of replacement parts have been discontinued. You can still find them, it just takes alot of effort, because you can't just walk into the toro dealer and get anything you might need. If you want to buy one that is already just like new, look to pay alot more for it. good luck :)

James, I search my local CL twice a day. Wasn't necessarily lookin for a lawn ranger, but all original for that price I pounced haha. Best advice I can give is never be turned off by a list price.

James, How common are those tractors in the uk??   Do you know if wheel horse ever exported LawnRangers over seas.. or have the tractor slowly just been brought over one by one..??  Just curious.....don't know any history of these tractors other than here in the USA.

i have no idea about them being imported i'm fairly new ti wheels horses myself only a year and a bit but i never have looked for another until now, hopefully someone with more experience will be able to help out, i really would like one of these tractors but if my fears are true (never imported by wheel horse) them my chances may be slim
