rzeigler 0 #1 Posted October 8, 2008 The 62 Lawn Ranger I'm restoring has the incorrect rear rims and tires on it and I was wondering what size I should be looking for. sorekiwi 761 #2 Posted October 9, 2008 If the 62 uses the same rims as my '63, they are 8" diameter, 4" wide. My '63 has no hubs, the rims have a keyway and mount directly onto the axles. The tire size is 4.8/4.00 X 8. rzeigler 0 #3 Posted October 9, 2008 Yeah I called him on Sunday and he had a 62 with the correct everything excwpt a hood and he sold it on saturday I kept telling myself to call but I waited and that is what I get. sorekiwi 761 #4 Posted October 9, 2008 Bummer. I looked at that tractor and nearly bought it, but for once common sense prevailed - I really didnt need another one! It was pretty far gone, but the seat was a lot better than mine (no holes!), and the fenders and rear toolbox would've worked on my RJ. It had the solid front tires - I didnt realize they used those in '62, my '63 has tubes. Just found a close up picture of one of mine. It also has one of those little chrome plugs like they use on the hoodstand in the centre hole too. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
sorekiwi 761 #5 Posted October 9, 2008 You realize that Matt had two Lawn Rangers there? The other one is a later model (with the "full" hood), but it did have rear wheels. Its in one of "Bells" pictures in the before-mentioned thread. I guess the other thing you could do is take a set of 8" front wheels, knock out the wheel bearings, and make (or have made) a center with a keyway that could be welded into the wheel in place of the wheel bearings. Probably be expensive if you had to pay someone to make the centre piece for you though... :banghead: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
