AMC RULES 37,196 #26 Posted September 10, 2014 When the rear end isn't dropped it fits nicely. Even with it dropped there's about 3/4" clearance on each side. LOL... I meant the shape of it?
Geno 1,929 #27 Posted September 10, 2014 Thanks for looking out for me. I've had that rack 17 years, it is locked and if you look close there are also safety jacks under it front and rear. You can see the rear one. I check the arm locks regularly too. Far as lowering, that's why I painted the lines around them all, nothing comes down unless everything is moved outside the yellow stripes.

Geno 1,929 #29 Posted September 10, 2014 LOL... I meant the shape of it? It's a custom complete body kit I'm putting on a truck. It covers every inch of metal on the truck, bumpers are removed and reinforcements are made and installed behind the shell., No gas door, door handles or anything, all smooth on the outside and all lights will be relocated and custom. I've also turned it into a convertible with a walk through and rear seats, and have a 350 tuned port under the hood. I haven't built a custom truck in over 17 years since I quit most of the body work but thought it was time. There won't be anything else like it in this country that's for sure. I'm still not sure if that's good or bad though.
Molon_Labe 731 #30 Posted September 10, 2014 Oh, man... make sure the safety locks are both engaged on that rotary, and make absolutely sure you check at least 3x that nothing is in the way before you lower it. I saw a guy drop a mid late 80's LTD on another car next to it when he forgot to move a post jack before lowering... almost got my tool box! Nothin' worse than losing a tool box in my opinion. just wish I had all of the tools my boys carried off over the years. Occasionally I still find one when mowing. squonk 43,778 #31 Posted September 10, 2014 I had a Mac tools utility cart and a truck on the lift. When I wasn't looking the guy next to me pushed my cart under the lift. I had already released the locks and lowered the truck. That cart stopped the lift and the only damage was a broken plastic caster socket

RFWHorse 4 #33 Posted September 12, 2014 I knew those tractors had potential with the right person, unfortunately it wasnt me. I am so glad they went to a good home! Geno and his wife are wonderful people, and he has a passion for Horses like no one I have ever seen LOL. I have always been impressed with Horses I just keep getting ones that need way too much work! That, combined with the difficulty in finding parts and knowledge around here has really soured my interest in owning them. If anybody is interested right now on Craigslist in Columbus OH there is a 520H with mower in "decent" shape for $700 and another on the Cleveland list with a deck and plow for $800! Both are a FAR cry (in price) from the one I saw yesterday listed for $2900! Years ago when I was big into muscle cars I learned something very important ... you cant restore it AND use it as a daily driver! I mowed with that 520 for 3 years and my time and money went into maintaining it and I couldnt strip it down and rebuild it because I needed to mow with it next week. Winter was out due to my lack of a heated shop, garage, or even a basement to put it in. Now to mow with I bought a Cub Cadet 2135 for $250 and a 2186 for $280 they both run and mow great and when they die I will just scrap them and buy another one. So glad you are happy Geno and I cant wait to see my old 520 the way it SHOULD look! The way it DESERVES to look!
RFWHorse 4 #34 Posted September 12, 2014 LOL I guess I should check threads more often. Here I am commenting on my younger days with muscle cars then see AMC RULES and my heart jumped! 69, 73 and 74 Dodge Chargers, then went AMC 68 AMX 390 4spd, 69 AMX 390 auto, 71 Javelin 6cyl 3spd, 71 Javelin SST 304 auto, 71 AMX 360 3spd, 72 Javelin SST 360 auto, (2) 72 AMX both 360 4spd, 73 Javelin 360 auto, 73 AMX 360 auto, and a 74 AMX 360 4spd. I LOVED my AMXs and wish I had em all or even one of them now! Never was lucky enough to come across a 401. It sucks getting old!
Geno 1,929 #35 Posted September 12, 2014 We found the wiring problem a few nights ago, the main power feed among other things were broken at a connector. Gonna try to get a minute to fix it today.
jackhammer 550 #36 Posted September 13, 2014 Geno you need to build yourself storage racks at your shop, I cant see you slowing down in the near future.
Geno 1,929 #37 Posted September 13, 2014 Interesting you say that Hammer, I'm working with a customer that may have access to some shelving like you see in Lowe's or Home Depot. I thought I could slow down but I think I was wrong. I've been on the phone with Trouty the past few hours, he found a snow mobile!
