Solex 27 #1 Posted September 9, 2014 Purchased my first Wheelhorse, a 308-8 from a Red Square member. I have always wanted a garden tractor to haul a cart around, and the 37 deck should make short work of my small 1/3 of an acre of grass. It has some minor rust issues that will be taken care of this winter, but I am concentrating on fixing a no crank situation. So far I have replaced the key switch, solenoid and fuse holder, but can only get it to fire up when when jumped at the solenoid. The Kohler Magnum runs strong with no smoke when started. The next step is to check the grounds, connectors, switches and wiring for problems. I would appreciate any advice that you can give me in this area. Attached is a couple pictures.

AJ_Thanatos 516 #3 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) Looks real nice! Great find! Switches, switches , switches.. I have found the internals of a switch bad before. So even if they look like they are operating correctly you should check them with a multimeter. Oh and also, alot of people will disconnect the seat switch and just run a jumper between them and not secure properly. So check that as well. I have seen wires just hanging with a jumper sticking out of one side! Oh yeah I almost forgot "Welcome to " And thank you for the pictures! Racinbob 11,925 #4 Posted September 9, 2014 You're off to a great start. Super tractor AND you posted pictures right off the get-go AJ's right, it's most likely one of the switches. Download the wiring diagram from here and just take it one step at a time and I'm sure you'll find the problem in no time.
