Brrly1 1,146 #3 Posted September 8, 2014 They are Good tractors, pictures really do help alot if you happen to have any, please post. It's a little easier to give a price by looking at pictures. What you have described sounds like a nice tractor. Does he have reciepts? Did he do the rebuild and how was it done? Is it someone you or possibly your son knows? Without pictures I'm gonna say around $2300 to $2650 give or take. Oh yeah, Welcome to Red Square it will be a great place for you to hang out

Sparky-(Admin) 23,327 #7 Posted September 9, 2014 The D's have their weak spots. > The steering box can be real sloppy (can be adjusted some) > The shaft on the hydro pump (coupling to the engine) can get stripped. Not an easy fix in my opinion. > On the older units such as the one your looking at there was a problem in the tranny with some bolts inside (cant remember which, dang memory) that would work loose or snap ( again my memory is failing me). Once they come loose they would get wedged between the pinion and the bottom of the tranny case and split/crack it. Look at the underside of the tranny case for signs of past damage. If you see welding signs..JB.Weld...etc...ask about the repair that was done. Look it over real good! Mike.......

Brrly1 1,146 #14 Posted September 9, 2014 Sparky, you're slipping. You might want to start tractor, engage drive unit to where the hydraulics are warming up after about fifteen or twenty minutes you are going to want to find an immovable object say a tree or a light pole bring the rpm's up to running speed engage the trans, if the tires spin that's a good thing, if they don't spin and it sits there and groans then run, run, run very fast the other way. In other words the hyd. pump is shot. Just words to the wise
